Moscow: A roundtable meeting on Russian-Azerbaijani relations was held at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The event was organized at the initiative of the MGIMO Azerbaijan Club and with support from the university administration.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the roundtable brought together MGIMO Rector Professor Anatoly Torkunov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, members of the university’s teaching staff, Russian experts, and Azerbaijani students studying at MGIMO.
Addressing the event, Professor Torkunov discussed the cooperation between MGIMO and Azerbaijani universities, highlighting the involvement of Azerbaijani students in the scientific and public life of the university. Ambassador Mustafayev provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s domestic and foreign policy priorities and the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, including steps taken to strengthen mutual trust.
The discussion included remarks by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, MGIMO faculty members, and Russian political experts, followed by an exchange of views on various issues on the Azerbaijan-Russia agenda.
