BAKU—The ‘SIMA Imza’ digital signature solution, developed by AzInTelecom LLC under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, has been integrated into the ‘MPAY’ electronic wallet, APA reports. This integration allows customers to make secure and legally compliant payments via the MPAY mobile app using biometric technology.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, payments exceeding 300 manats now require customers to provide their FIN code and undergo a biometric verification process through ‘SIMA Imza’. This feature ensures that the individual making the payment is the legitimate owner of the MPAY account, providing enhanced protection against cyber fraud. The ‘SIMA Imza’ digital signature can be obtained entirely online, making it accessible to Azerbaijani citizens, individual entrepreneurs, and legally residing foreigners without the need for physical visits to service centers. The service is free of charge and aims to streamline business processes and increase the availability of digital services across the country.
