Baku: Trkiye's Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, has announced that the implementation of commitments made during COP29, particularly the Baku Finance Goal, will be closely monitored at COP31. Kurum, who is the COP31 President-designate, conveyed this message through a video sent to an international event for World Environment Day hosted by Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kurum emphasized the importance of cooperation and tangible results at COP31. He stated that the global community is eager to see action rather than new promises. Kurum highlighted the necessity of involving all societal segments in this process, including governments, local authorities, the private sector, academia, youth, women, civil society, and the financial sector. He views COP31 as an opportunity for shared responsibility and strong partnerships to achieve concrete actions and build trust through climate diplomacy.
Kurum extended an invitation to the event participants to attend COP31, which is scheduled to take place in Antalya in November. He expressed his eagerness to welcome international guests to Trkiye for the conference.
