On August 14, the first session of the extraordinary session of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was held, APA’s local bureau reports.

The agenda included changes in the composition of the Central Election Commission of Nakhchivan AR.

The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Assembly Anar Ibrahimov noted that the last members of the Central Election Commission of Nakhchivan AR were selected by the Decision of the Supreme Assembly dated December 30, 2020. At the meeting of the Central Election Commission held on July 22, 2024, the chairman of the commission Aliyev Ajdar Zahid was released from the position of chairman based on his application.

According to the Constitution of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Supreme Assembly resolves the issue of appointing the members of the Central Election Commission of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the proposal of the High Official of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Taking into account the above, the deputy chairman proposed Oru
jaliyev Ramil Ali as a candidate for the membership of the Central Election Commission of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
