Baku: The New Year season brings the much-anticipated return of the ‘Gingerbread City’ at Port Baku Mall, as NARGIS Publishing House launches its latest exhibition, ‘Winter in Azerbaijan,’ on December 1. This year’s showcase draws inspiration from the crescent and eight-pointed star on the Azerbaijani flag, promising an immersive festive experience.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, NARGIS Publishing House is renowned for organizing significant events that highlight various aspects of public life. The ‘Winter in Azerbaijan’ exhibition, held during the holiday season, features intricate miniature models depicting Baku’s landmarks and elements reflecting Azerbaijani customs and traditions. The concept, developed by Ulviyya Mahmud, Editor-in-Chief of NARGIS magazine, aims to capture the essence of Azerbaijani culture.

The exhibition is a collaborative effort involving Azerbaijan’s professional confectioners and architects. Designed in the form of a crescent and an eight-pointed star, the model symbolizes the nation’s rich cultural heritage. A key focus is on presenting the composition to an international audience, thereby promoting Azerbaijani culture globally.

The NARGIS team acknowledges the support of various organizations, including Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Azerpost LLC, Baku Metro CJSC, and others, for their contributions. They also extend special thanks to the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their guidance and to Port Baku Mall for providing the exhibition venue.

The ‘Winter in Azerbaijan’ exhibition will officially open on December 1 and remain accessible until January 15, 2026. Admission is free to the public, offering a unique opportunity to experience Azerbaijani culture during the festive season.
