Amsterdam: During today's trading, the price of 1,000 cubic meters of gas in Europe approached $720, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the price of September futures on the TTF (the Netherlands' Title Transfer Facility, Europe's most liquid virtual trading hub) index stood at $719.7 as of August 12. This marks a 2.7% increase compared to the previous settlement price of $700.9.
The rise in natural gas prices is significant as Europe continues to navigate its energy needs and supply challenges. It is noteworthy that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) commenced on December 31, 2020, providing an additional source of energy to the continent.
Such fluctuations in gas prices highlight the ongoing volatility in energy markets, impacting economic decisions and energy consumption patterns across Europe.
