Baku: Financial violations, excessive and unjustified payments, and other shortcomings amounting to 609.7 million manats were detected as a result of state financial control measures in 2025, APA-Economics reports. This revelation was part of the 'Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,' which was discussed at a session of the Milli Majlis.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, control measures carried out by the Ministry of Finance prevented the overspending of 32.1 million manats, while the return of 53.4 million manats to the state budget was ensured. These measures indicate a significant effort by the government to address financial mismanagement and secure state funds.
During the inspections, administrative fines were imposed on 27 officials for financial violations in budget organizations. The payment of the corresponding funds to the state budget was ensured, highlighting the government's commitment to maintaining fiscal discipline.
At the same time, relevant appeals were sent to the central and local executive authorities overseeing the respective institutions. These appeals aim to eliminate the identified shortcomings and prevent similar cases in the future, demonstrating a proactive approach to financial governance.
