Baku: Nearly 800 foreigners were deported from Azerbaijan during the reporting period, stated Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, speaking during a media tour on the topic of "Media Awareness in the Field of Migration," APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov revealed that 9,757 administrative decisions were issued as part of measures taken to combat illegal migration during the reporting period. These decisions primarily involved individuals identified by the State Migration Service or detected through electronic information systems whose legal status was subsequently regulated.

Huseynov further explained that administrative decisions on expulsion from the country, or deportation, were issued against nearly 800 foreigners. The duration of the entry ban into Azerbaijan varies depending on the nature and severity of the violation committed by the individual, with possible bans lasting one year, two years, five years, or other periods prescribed by law.

Additionally, Huseynov noted that, during the reporting period, four cases related to the organization of illegal migration and other unlawful acts were referred to the relevant law enforcement authorities. These cases involved schemes such as bringing individuals to Azerbaijan to illegally transport them to third countries, deceiving them with various promises, and involving them in illegal migration activities for financial gain, leading to their illegal status. As these acts contain elements of criminal offences, the materials were submitted to the relevant law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
