“Yerevan informs all its partners about its negotiations with other parties regarding the construction of a new nuclear block,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said while speaking in the parliament about the United States plan to build a reactor in Armenia, APA reports.
“We do not hide it. The government intends to develop the capabilities of the country’s nuclear energy industry. Within the framework of this program, active negotiations are being conducted with partners: Russia, the United States and third countries.Yerevan examines and selects the most profitable project from an economic point of view, and experts work on it. The Armenian delegation, which will visit the US in the near future, will get acquainted with the possibilities of modular reactors. This will allow building modules with a capacity of up to 300 megawatts, gradually increasing their capacities,” he said.
