New Agrarian University to Be Established in Azerbaijan with Foreign Collaboration

Baku: A new university focusing on the agrarian field will be established in Azerbaijan in collaboration with foreign universities, APA reports. This development is part of a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the country's educational and agricultural sectors.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the initiative is outlined in the 'State Program for 2026-2030 on the development of production and processing sectors of agricultural, fisheries, and aquaculture products in the Republic of Azerbaijan.' The program mandates the Ministry of Agriculture, alongside the Ministry of Science and Education, to implement several measures over the next few years. These measures include expanding the range of specialties in dual diploma programs, increasing partnerships with foreign countries and universities, and boosting student enrollment in these programs.

Furthermore, the program aims to explore opportunities for the establishment of a joint university with selected foreign universities. It is expected that dual diploma programs will be executed with at least two prestigious international universities, with a target of increasing the number of graduates from these programs to 500 by the end of the program period. The ultimate goal is to establish a joint university as part of a cooperative effort with one foreign university, thereby enhancing the educational landscape in Azerbaijan and providing students with increased opportunities in the agrarian sector.
