Baku: The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) and the Gilavar Photography Club have announced the launch of an international photography contest titled ‘Olympic Spirit: Beyond Victory and Defeat.’ This competition aims to celebrate the values of clean sports and fair play by sharing compelling images with a worldwide audience, coinciding with the Olympic and Paralympic year, 2024.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the contest invites photographers from around the globe to submit images that capture the essence of sportsmanship and promote the message of fair play. Themes for the competition include the joy of victory, the sorrow of defeat, unforgettable moments, the spirit of clean competition, and the advocacy of fair play. Special recognition will be given to photographs of Azerbaijani athletes taken by international photographers.
Participants must submit original works captured during the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. The winners will be chosen by a distinguished jury of
experts from Italy, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan, adhering to the prestigious standards of the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) and the Gilavar Photography Club.
The contest aims to highlight the beauty of sport and the principles of fair competition, fostering a global conversation on the unifying values of the Olympic spirit through the art of photography.
Photographs must be submitted by November 30, 2024, with a planned exhibition of selected works in December.
