Baku: At the invitation of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), a delegation from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) visited Azerbaijan for a series of significant events aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the visit began with the Chinese delegation paying respects at the Alley of Honors, where they laid wreaths at the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva. This gesture highlighted the enduring legacy of Heydar Aliyev, a pivotal figure in Azerbaijan's modern history.
The CCP delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku, honoring Azerbaijani heroes who lost their lives for the nation's independence and territorial integrity. Their tribute included laying flowers at the graves and placing a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Meetings were held with representatives of the Youth Union of the Yasamal regional branch of the New Azerbaijan Party. Key speakers included Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, Chairman of the Yasamal district branch of YAP, MP Vugar Iskandarov, and Kang Shuai, Deputy Director General of the Information Research Center, International Department of the CPC Central Committee. Discussions centered on the strong political ties between Azerbaijan and China, fostered by Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Xi Jinping. The speakers highlighted the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in November 2024 as vital to the development of inter-party relations.
The delegation's itinerary included visits to the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan, the Chinese Language and Culture Center, and the Heydar Aliyev School of Public Administration. The visit underscored the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Academy and the CPC Central Committee's Party School in advancing public administration and personnel training.
A conference on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was also part of the agenda. Additionally, the Chinese delegation explored cultural sites, including Icherisheher (Old City), Seaside National Park, Sea Breeze Resort, and the Central Botanical Garden, further solidifying the cultural exchange between the two nations.
