Baku: The State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has officially launched the Online Inquiry Center, a digital platform designed to collect, manage, and electronically process information related to missing persons and citizen inquiries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the portal has been developed in collaboration with the International Commission on Missing Persons, using the Integrated Data Management System. This new digital tool aims to centralize information on missing persons within a unified electronic system, enhance data exchange among state institutions, improve the efficiency of citizen inquiry reviews, and facilitate communication with families of missing persons through modern digital means.
The platform has been developed in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the operational requirements of the State Commission. It is fully functional in the Azerbaijani language, with all data securely stored on servers located within the country.
Key features of the portal include the "Report a Missing Person" service for submitting new information, the "Request on Missing Persons" section for sending electronic inquiries, and the "Indicate a Place" service for providing information on possible burial sites, complete with geographic coordinates. Users can also upload photographs, documents, and other relevant materials electronically and submit additional information to expedite inquiry reviews.
A major benefit of the platform is its ability to systematize and analyze information from citizens in a unified electronic database, making it accessible to relevant state institutions. This capability supports more effective planning of search, excavation, exhumation, and identification operations.
To access the Online Inquiry Center, users can visit the official website of the State Commission at: https://scmp.gov.az/. The State Commission encourages anyone with information that could help clarify the fate of missing persons to utilize this new digital resource.
