Baku: The next graduation ceremony for the Marine Commando Basic Course took place in the Azerbaijan Naval Forces’ military unit, as announced by the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was graced by the presence of Naval Forces leadership and servicemen. The ceremony commenced with a floral tribute laid in front of the monument honoring Shehids within the military unit’s premises.
During the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Shehids who laid down their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was also performed.
The Acting Commander of the Naval Forces, 1st grade Captain Shahin Mammadov, addressed the servicemen, extending congratulations from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense to the graduates who successfully completed the course. He wished them success in their future endeavors.
Captain Mammadov highlighted the successful reforms implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He spoke about the formation of the Azerbaijan Army as a regular army by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the activities of the Naval Forces, and the participation of Naval Forces personnel in the historic victory during the 44-day Patriotic War.
The ceremony concluded with the course’s top graduate attaching the emblem to the symbolic stump, followed by the presentation of certificates to the graduates and the awarding of honorary certificates and valuable gifts to distinguished servicemen and instructors.
