Aghdara: Today, as part of the ‘Great Return’ program, 53 families consisting of 185 individuals were relocated to the village of Sugovushan in the Aghdara district.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the former internally displaced persons (IDPs), sent off from various cities and districts across the country, were presented with keys to their new homes and have now settled in.

With this recent resettlement, a total of 126 families have been relocated to Sugovushan village in the Aghdara district. Sabuhi Gahramanov, the Deputy Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Khankendi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, emphasized the focus on ensuring employment opportunities for the relocated families. Gahramanov also mentioned that the resettlement process to Sugovushan village will continue, with a total of 180 families, comprising 591 individuals, registered for planned relocation to the village.

The people resettling in Sugovushan village in Aghdara are those who had been temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings in various parts of the country. This phase of relocation involved 53 families, totaling 185 people. Currently, in addition to the IDPs relocated to Garabagh and East Zangazur, approximately 40,000 people reside in the region. These include individuals working on ongoing projects, employees of local branches of various state entities, as well as those employed in healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy sectors that have resumed operations.
