Baku: On August 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov paid a visit to the Republic of Belarus, APA reports. As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, discussions during the meeting centered on issues arising from the strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus. The meeting highlighted the role of the leaders of both countries in fostering strategic partnership relations grounded in friendly ties.

Following the meeting, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Belarus took place. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister Samir Sharifov, while Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Utyupin represented Belarus. The consultations underscored the positive dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue and acknowledged the significance of the Intergovernmental Commission and political consultation mechanism.

Furthermore, the consultations reviewed the status of agreements reached and explored the current state and future prospects of cooperation in various sectors, including trade, economy, energy, agriculture, and humanitarian efforts. The discussions also addressed collaboration within regional and international organizations.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, reinforcing their commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cooperative ties.
