Baku: On March 17, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum hosted the opening of a solo exhibition by artist Nigar Aliyeva. The event was attended by Anar Alakbarov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center, Alena Aliyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova, along with cultural and art figures.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Director of the National Carpet Museum of Azerbaijan, Amina Melikova, addressed the gathering, highlighting the museum's commitment to supporting contemporary artists. Despite her young age, Nigar Aliyeva has contributed over a decade to the art field, demonstrating her ability to express Azerbaijan's national heritage and cultural values through her work. Melikova emphasized the importance of showcasing the country's heritage in a modern context to reach broader audiences.

Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova praised Aliyeva's unique artistic approach, particularly her "Irevan style" work. Yusifova also noted the significance of the Novruz holiday, which connects the past and future, fostering hope and faith.

The artist, Nigar Aliyeva, shared her dedication to revisiting Azerbaijan's national heritage over the past two years, aiming to introduce these traditions to younger generations. She expressed gratitude to contributors to the exhibition's success, noting that exhibits from various museums were showcased, each deeply rooted in the history and artistic heritage of Azerbaijan.

The exhibition includes Aliyeva's oil-on-canvas works created between 2024 and 2026, reflecting her research into national cuisine, jewelry, weaving, and other folk arts. Her compositions incorporate ornamental elements of classical Azerbaijani painting, particularly the style of Mirza Gadim Irevani.

Co-organized by the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and Arts Council Azerbaijan, the exhibition will be open to the public until March 31.
