New York:The Nizami Ganjavi International Center's 37th high-level meeting took place alongside the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, focusing on 'Rebuilding Trust, Cooperation and Global Stability for a Shared Future.'

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting gathered state and government officials, UN representatives, former heads of state, and experts. Opening remarks were delivered by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, Miguel ngel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Tatiana Molcean, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and Ismail Serageldin, Co-Chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, among others.

The discussions centered on restoring trust in the international system, the future of multilateralism, and the role of international law. Geopolitical confrontations, diplomacy, and global health cooperation were also addressed. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus highlighted the significance of cooperation and trust among states to combat global threats.

Miguel ngel Moratinos stressed the need for effective international institutions and preventive diplomacy in a multipolar world to maintain peace. Tatiana Molcean discussed the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine, economic uncertainty, and climate risks. Wu Hongbo, former Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs, spoke on sovereign equality, international law, and multilateralism.

The meeting's first day included discussions on four main panels. The 37th High-Level Meeting is set to continue with further discussions on energy security, climate, artificial intelligence and digital sovereignty, the future of multilateralism, and global health.
