No Road Checkpoints During WUF13, Confirms ITMC Chief

Baku: No restrictions on roads, installation of checkpoints, or cases such as not allowing drivers coming to the capital from districts and regions to enter are envisaged during WUF13, Namidan Piriyev, head of the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated at a briefing on the presentation of the transport management plan during WUF13.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Piriyev emphasized that the only potential traffic redirection could occur on May 18, the opening day of the event. He explained that vehicles entering the capital from the southern part of the city, specifically from the 'Lokbatan circle' area, might be rerouted towards the outer ring road for a short period. He clarified that this is not a restriction or checkpoint installation but a temporary measure to manage traffic flow effectively. Vehicles coming from other directions will not face any restrictions, ensuring smooth access to the city.
