As compared to an appropriate period of the last year, the total number of taxpayers in Azerbaijan has grown by 7.1%, including the number of individuals - by 6.8%, legal entities - by 9.4%, the State Tax Service reports. According to the agency, the number of registered commercial institutions (168,653) for this period grew by 10.1%, the number of operating commercial organisations - by 13.5%. In the first 6 months of this year, 8,012 commercial organisations were registered of which 87.9% are companies with local investments, and 12.1% with foreign investments. Total of 1,461,000 taxpayers were registered in the country as of early July, 12.7 per cent of which are legal entities and other organisations.
