Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the ongoing positive momentum in Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union and other international organizations during a recent press conference. The foreign minister highlighted the country's activities within prominent international bodies such as the Non-Aligned Movement, D-8, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov noted Azerbaijan's successful implementation of national initiatives as a new member of the D-8 organization. He also emphasized the continued development of cooperation with the OIC and its member states, underscoring Azerbaijan's commitment to strengthening its international partnerships.
Bayramov further elaborated on the cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, mentioning the positive dynamics observed in fostering Azerbaijan-EU relations. He indicated that an agreement to initiate negotiations on new partnership priorities is in place between Azerbaijan and the EU. Additionally, there is a mutual agreement to resume negotiations for the signing of a new partnership agreement.
In his address, Bayramov also announced that the 12th Summit of the European Political Union is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in 2028, reflecting the country's growing role on the international stage.
