Official opening ceremony of the UN Climate Change Conference is underway

Leaders from around the world are arriving in Glasgow today for the COP26 United Nations climate conference, APA reports citing Daily Record.

Thousands of people from across the globe are already in Scotland’s largest city for the summit which will look at ways to tackle global warming.

The UK is hosting the annual conference with Tory minister Alok Sharma the president who formally opened the gathering yesterday afternoon.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson will officially open the World Leaders’ Summit later today in front of heads of state such as US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

For the next two days world leaders will discuss what can be done to curb carbon emissions and to keep temperature limits to 1.5C.

Over the next two weeks, between November 1 and 12, around 30,000 delegates from more than 180 countries will look at ways to cue CO2.
