Baku: An official welcome ceremony was held for Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed the Iranian leader, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ceremony took place on April 28 and included a guard of honor arranged for President Pezeshkian. The square was decorated with the national flags of both countries to mark the occasion.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to President Pezeshkian, after which the national anthems of Iran and Azerbaijan were played. The ceremony continued with the guard of honor marching in front of the two Presidents to the accompaniment of a military march.

The event concluded with Presidents Aliyev and Pezeshkian posing for official photographs, symbolizing the diplomatic relations between the two neighboring nations.
