Baku:FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Chairman of the Tournament Organising Committee Samir Sharifov, and AFFA President Rovshan Najaf visited the Hovsan Competition Complex in Baku on the first matchday of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during their visit, the officials toured the facilities and watched the tournament's opening matches.

The event will continue this evening at Baku Crystal Hall with the official opening ceremony, followed by the match between Azerbaijan and Timor-Leste. The FIFA U-15 World Championship and Festival, which began on October 22, will run until October 30. The event brings together young football talents from 189 FIFA member associations in Baku.

The championship and festival aim to contribute to the development of young footballers, facilitate the exchange of international experience, and promote the growth of football globally.
