Jeddah: Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), received Mutallim Sabir Mirzayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the General Secretariat headquarters. Mirzayev presented his credentials as the new Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the OIC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the OIC Secretary-General welcomed Mirzayev and expressed his wishes for success in his new role. He highlighted the active participation of Azerbaijan in the OIC and praised the country's efforts to host the 16th session of the Islamic Summit Conference in 2027. This, he noted, reflects the confidence of the Member States in Azerbaijan's constructive contributions to the organization.
Mirzayev underscored the significant importance Azerbaijan places on the OIC and its commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors. He reiterated Azerbaijan's anticipation of hosting the upcoming Islamic Summit and emphasized the ongoing dedication to strengthening ties with the OIC.
