Baku: A meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held on May 7, as reported by APA. The gathering was led by Samir Nuriyev, who is the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and also serves as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Nuriyev highlighted the limited time remaining before WUF13 kicks off on May 17, and noted that Baku will host this significant event until May 22, marking it as a key platform on the urban development and sustainable development agenda.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Samir Nuriyev remarked that hosting global-scale events has become a tradition for Azerbaijan under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. He underscored the importance of WUF13 in showcasing Azerbaijan's modern urban planning vision and its contributions to sustainable development. Nuriyev also highlighted the country's large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts in territories liberated from occupation, which will be presented at the international level during the forum.
Samir Nuriyev instructed that relevant issues be addressed promptly and in a coordinated manner by pertinent institutions as preparations for WUF13 enter the final stage. He urged that efforts in all areas be intensified and completed to ensure the success of the event.
