Baku: Ignazio Cassis, a member of the Swiss Federal Council, is set to visit Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on August 4-5 in his capacity as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions during the visit will primarily center on bilateral relations, peace efforts in the South Caucasus, and Switzerland's role in Central Asia as part of its upcoming 2026 OSCE Chairpersonship.

The visit to Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan is the initial phase of a regional tour planned by Cassis. This tour will continue later this autumn with scheduled visits to Armenia and Georgia, marking an effort to strengthen ties and promote peace in the region.
