Ottawa: An event dedicated to March 31 - the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis and the 10th anniversary of the April Battles was held in Ottawa. The gathering, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Canada and the Garabagh Azerbaijani Language School, was supported by the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora. Attendees included embassy staff, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, local community members, and students studying in Ottawa.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event commenced with an opening address by Vusal Suleymanov, Charg© d'Affaires of the Azerbaijani Embassy. He provided an overview of the genocidal acts committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis over various periods of history, highlighting the moral and historical significance of the April Battles for the Azerbaijani people. Suleymanov also informed participants about Azerbaijan's post-war recovery efforts, reconstruction initiatives, and policies aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Following Suleymanov's address, teachers Vusala Ahmadova and Ulviyya Rahimova from the Azerbaijani Language School delivered detailed information on the historical origins of the centuries-long genocidal policies against the Azerbaijani people. They noted that the April Battles marked the beginning of Azerbaijan's significant military success in the Patriotic War.

Throughout the event, members of the Azerbaijani community delivered speeches, and patriotic films were screened to engage and inspire the audience.
