Baku:Total expenditures on the Shah Deniz gas condensate field amounted to $3 billion 80 million during the first three quarters of this year, as detailed in a report by bp on its operations in Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, approximately $2 billion 2 million in operating expenditures and around $1 billion 78 million in capital expenditures were spent on Shah Deniz activities during the reporting period.
During the first nine months of the year, the field produced approximately 20 billion standard cubic meters of gas and around 3 million tons (approximately 21 million barrels) of condensate, with contributions from both the Shah Deniz Alpha and Shah Deniz Bravo platforms. The current production capacity of the Shah Deniz facilities is approximately 79 million standard cubic meters per day, translating to around 28.8 billion standard cubic meters annually.
In the third quarter of 2026, subsea activities at the east-north flank wells continued as part of the Shah Deniz 2 project. The fourth well on this flank was brought into operation in September. The Khankendi vessel, primarily engaged in the Shah Deniz 2 project, also participated in subsea intervention operations at several wells in the Deepwater Gunashli area of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block, focusing on reservoir pressure management and production enhancement.
The Tofiq Ismayilov diving vessel supported maintenance, inspection, and intervention activities at Shah Deniz 2 and ACG subsea production facilities. This effort is part of a schedule aimed at optimizing activities and expediting well start-up timelines.
Drilling operations also saw progress, with the completion of the SDA12 well on the Shah Deniz Alpha platform in the third quarter. The Istiglal and Heydar Aliyev drilling rigs continued operations under the Shah Deniz 2 project, with various completion and drilling activities on multiple flanks of the field.
A total of 24 wells have been drilled under the Shah Deniz 2 project, covering several flanks across the field.
