Pacific nation of Vanuatu hit by 7.0-magnitude earthquake

A strong 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Vanuatu on Sunday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), APA reports citing Teletrader.

 

The epicenter of the quake was some 23 kilometers west-north-west of the village of Port Olry, which is home to an estimated population of 1,300. The tremor struck at a depth of about 27.7 kilometers.
