Shusha: Participants of the Turkic World Week, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, visited the city of Shusha on July 2. The visit offered them a unique opportunity to delve into the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the group began their tour at the Shusha Fortress walls, where they received a briefing on the city's storied past and the architecture of the fortress. The fortress stands as a symbol of the city's resilience and historical significance.

Following this, the participants explored several of Shusha's historical landmarks. These included the bullet-riddled busts of renowned Azerbaijani figures such as Uzeyir Hajibayli, Bulbul, and Khurshidbanu Natavan, prominently displayed in the city's central square. These busts serve as poignant reminders of the cultural contributions of these figures to Azerbaijan.

The visit also included stops at the Khurshidbanu Natavan House Museum and the Khan Gizi Spring, providing further insights into the area's cultural legacy. The group also toured the Ganja Gate of the Shusha Fortress, which remains a vital part of the city's historic fabric.

Throughout their visit, participants were briefed on the ongoing large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts in Shusha, aimed at preserving its historical sites for future generations.
