Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has met with a delegation led by Anna Bjerde, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia on November 18, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov has noted Azerbaijan’s pleasure for the cooperation with the World Bank and the importance of strengthening cooperation. Anna Bjerde noted that during the last years, Azerbaijan has turned from a low-income country into a high-income donor country.

Country Partnership Framework Document of the World Bank regarding Azerbaijan which is in progress, Bank’s participation in the implementation of Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development strategy for 2022-2026 and restoration of the liberated territories from the occupation, and perspectives of the partnership in the several other fields have been discussed in the meeting.

In the end, a new Agreement has been signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and World Bank Group Organizations regarding the establishment of offices and their activity in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Agreement has been signed by the finance minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Anna Bjerde, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia.
