Astana: Azerbaijan will work towards consolidating international efforts in urban development and ecology, Prime Minister Ali Asadov announced during his speech at the Regional Environmental Summit.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Prime Minister Asadov highlighted Azerbaijan's intention to leverage its experience from hosting COP29 to prepare for the 13th World Urban Forum in May, in collaboration with UN-Habitat. Additionally, Azerbaijan will host World Environment Day in June 2026. Asadov emphasized the use of these platforms to advance the global sustainable development agenda and unite international efforts in urban development and ecological preservation. He underscored the significance of strengthening joint efforts and adopting a coordinated approach to tackle transboundary environmental issues. Azerbaijan remains committed to international cooperation principles and is poised to actively contribute to realizing common global goals.
