Baku: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Pawel Radomski, has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding allegations made against Azerbaijan and its leadership in an anti-Azerbaijan report aired on August 26, 2026, on the 'Eastern Express' program of Poland's public broadcaster TVP.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani officials conveyed their disapproval of the biased and non-objective claims presented in the broadcast. The program's host was also criticized for their provocative behavior. During the meeting, a note of protest was handed to the Polish side, highlighting the Azerbaijani government's concerns regarding the nature of the broadcast.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that the dissemination of misleading information, particularly during a crucial time of normalization and peace efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, raises significant concerns. Azerbaijan is committed to ensuring long-lasting peace, stability, and security in the region, and such broadcasts are seen as counterproductive to these efforts.
The report by TVP, a public broadcaster funded by the Polish government, was deemed an unfriendly action that could potentially harm the spirit of partnership between Poland and Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side urged Poland to undertake urgent and effective measures to halt such provocative campaigns that target Azerbaijan.
