Baku: Pope Leo XIV has been invited to visit Azerbaijan, APA reports. On June 16, President Ilham Aliyev extended the invitation by presenting a letter to George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Holy See's Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the invitation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen interfaith dialogue and international relations between Azerbaijan and the Vatican. The gesture marks a significant step in fostering diplomatic and cultural exchanges between the two entities.
