Baku: In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan received $738 million in money transfers from abroad, as announced by Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, during a briefing on the balance of payments, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volume of money transfers sent from Azerbaijan to other countries during the same period amounted to $207 million. This resulted in a net inflow of $531 million from money transfers.

The Russian Federation emerged as the primary source of these transfers, contributing $356.7 million, which constituted 48.3% of the total inflows. Following Russia, Trkiye was the second-largest source with $108.3 million (14.7%), the United States contributed $46.5 million (6.2%), Iran provided $42.9 million (5.7%), and Georgia accounted for $25.5 million (3.4%).

The main destinations for money transfers sent abroad from Azerbaijan included Trkiye, the United States, the Russian Federation, and Georgia.
