Baku:President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met with Shaikha Al Nuwais, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), to discuss the development of tourism in the country.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Shaikha Al Nuwais expressed her gratitude to President Aliyev for the reception.

During their meeting, both parties commended the ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and UN Tourism. They explored state support for tourism development and the establishment of modern tourism infrastructure beyond the capital. The discussions highlighted the significance of peace and security in Azerbaijan, which contribute to the country being an attractive destination for tourists.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on potential avenues for further cooperation between Azerbaijan and UN Tourism.
