President Aliyev Approves Food Safety Cooperation Agreement with Russia


BAKU: President Ilham Aliyev has officially endorsed a cooperative agreement on food safety with Russia, marking a significant step in bilateral relations. The agreement, which involves the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan and Russia’s Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare, aims to enhance collaboration in the regulation and oversight of food safety standards between the two nations.

According to Trend News Agency, the agreement was initially signed on August 19, 2024, in Baku. The decree issued by President Aliyev mandates the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency to implement the provisions outlined in the agreement once it becomes effective. As part of the procedural requirements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is tasked with notifying the Russian Government of the completion of domestic procedures necessary for the agreement’s enactment.
