Baku: President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan for the assistance provided in the restoration efforts of the Karabakh region. This acknowledgment came during the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted Uzbekistan's pivotal role as the first country to offer practical assistance, with President Mirziyoyev being the first leader to extend such support. He noted the significant contributions like the establishment of the Mirzo Ulugbek school, which now accommodates nearly 1,000 students, marking it as a symbol of the strong ties between the two nations.
Additionally, President Aliyev mentioned their joint visit to a garment factory in Khankendi, a facility established by Uzbek partners in a remarkably short time. This factory is crucial for job creation in the region, particularly for women, and represents the first major investment project aimed at setting up a modern production facility that will generate over 200 jobs. President Aliyev expressed his deep appreciation for these efforts, underscoring their importance in the ongoing development and stabilization of the Karabakh region.
