President Aliyev Criticizes Officials for Illegal Enrichment Amid Development Efforts

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev addressed concerns over corruption among government officials during a meeting with newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Nakhchivan and heads of several district executive authorities. Highlighting the nation’s developmental achievements, Aliyev emphasized the importance of integrity in public service.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev underscored the significant progress made across Azerbaijan, pointing to infrastructure projects such as nine international airports, renovated railways, highways, and advancements in electrical, irrigation, and gasification systems. These efforts aim to elevate living standards throughout the regions. However, Aliyev expressed disappointment that some officials have prioritized personal gain over public service, engaging in illegal enrichment despite the trust placed in them.

Aliyev articulated his expectations for the newly appointed officials, urging them to prioritize the concerns of citizens and maintain close contact with communities. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of the Azerbaijani people and called on officials to meet the high standards set for them. The President expressed confidence that the new appointees, whether seasoned or stepping into senior roles for the first time, would fulfill their duties with diligence and earn public respect.
