Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Csaba Lejko, the President for CIS and Central Asia at John Deere and CEO of John Deere Walldorf International GmbH, on December 10. The discussion focused on enhancing Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector and the role of John Deere in this development.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting underscored Azerbaijan’s vast agricultural potential and state-level initiatives aimed at promoting the sector’s growth. Csaba Lejko, acknowledging John Deere’s successful operations in Azerbaijan, expressed the company’s eagerness to deepen collaboration, particularly in Azerbaijan’s cotton industry. He shared insights on initiatives proposed by John Deere to boost cotton production in the region.

Lejko conveyed his admiration for the development he observed in Baku, emphasizing the promising prospects for future cooperation. The discussions also covered the potential establishment of an education and training center, experience exchange programs, and strategies to improve irrigation, logistics, and the digitalization of the cotton and grain production value chain.

John Deere, a prominent company in the agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery sector, was founded in 1837 in the United States. The company is renowned for producing tractors, combines, and cotton pickers, and it reported nearly $52 billion in revenue last year. With a global presence, John Deere operates in over 30 countries through its numerous plants and offices.
