Jabrayil: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met with residents of Horovlu village in Jabrayil district as he presented them with keys to their new apartments. The meeting took place on October 28, marking a significant moment for the residents who are returning to their native lands.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev addressed the residents, expressing his heartfelt greetings and emphasizing the historical importance of the day. He highlighted the state’s efforts in creating favorable living conditions in the village, which now boasts new buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a medical center, and workplaces. The initial stage of development includes 334 houses to accommodate 1,400 people, with plans for further construction to meet the needs of an expanding population.

Horovlu was liberated from Armenian occupation during the first week of the Patriotic War, a pivotal moment that led to Azerbaijan’s subsequent victories. President Aliyev paid tribute to the martyrs and acknowledged the ongoing efforts to rebuild the region. The return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to Jabrayil and other areas is a testament to Azerbaijan’s commitment to restoring the territories.

The President also outlined future development plans, including the creation of jobs through the ‘Araz Valley’ industrial zone, the establishment of solar power plants, and the promotion of agriculture. The region’s fertile land is seen as a boon for agricultural activities, including livestock breeding and crop cultivation.

President Aliyev reiterated the country’s resolve in overcoming past adversities and emphasized the importance of self-reliance and justice. He assured the residents of the government’s support in ensuring a prosperous and peaceful life for them in their native land. The event concluded with a key handover ceremony, symbolizing a new chapter for Horovlu village residents.
