Aghdam:President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the facilities at the Aghdam Olive Enterprise on November 7. During his visit, he was briefed by Ruslan Sadikhov, Director of Agroinkishaf 2017 LLC, about the operations of the enterprise.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, following the clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance from Aghdam, the company began land preparation and leveling in December 2020. The initial cultivation of grain resulted in a yield of 40 centners per hectare. Since then, an olive orchard spanning 1,150 hectares has been developed, with over 700,000 trees planted. The enterprise envisions increasing the number of olive and almond trees to 1.5 million in the future.

The Aghdam Olive Enterprise aims to produce 10,000 tonnes of olives or 2,000 tonnes of olive oil annually, utilizing modern agricultural machinery. Infrastructure improvements include the construction of temporary irrigation canals, repair of a 3,690-meter road, and the establishment of administrative and technical facilities. A 10-hectare forest plantation has been created, with plans to expand it by another 50 hectares. Additionally, a fuel station and a weather station have been set up on site.

President Aliyev also received information about Azerbaijan's walnut production industry. Since 2017, Agroinkishaf 2017 LLC has cultivated high-density walnut orchards over 2,000 hectares in the Shaki and Oghuz districts, aiming to reduce imports and boost exports. In 2022, President Aliyev laid the foundation for a walnut processing plant in Oghuz, with equipment commissioned in 2025 to handle 10,000 tonnes annually. Walnuts are sold domestically and exported to countries including Turkey, Georgia, Russia, and Italy. The enterprise is setting up modern almond orchards over nearly 1,000 hectares, equipped with advanced agricultural machinery and systems.

The president was also informed on the progress of the Ajinohur Olive Valley project before planting an olive tree on the enterprise's grounds.
