Davos: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in Davos on January 20. The meeting highlighted the ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EBRD and acknowledged the successful implementation of several projects in the country.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the meeting, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the collaboration, specifically mentioning projects in the water sector in various regions such as Ganja and Sheki. They also discussed future financing initiatives under the State Program aimed at improving water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, scheduled for completion between 2026 and 2035.
The meeting also included discussions on enhancing cooperation in renewable energy, modernizing the transport system in Nakhchivan, and funding household waste management projects across Azerbaijan. Additionally, the dialogue addressed the state's efforts to advance the banking sector, foster entrepreneurship, and establish a conducive investment environment for both local and foreign investors.
