Baku: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the necessity of not only employing researchers but also undertaking reforms to develop science in the country during an interview with local television channels on January 5. He stated that without these reforms, there will be limitations to development.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev pointed out that the development of advanced countries relies on intellect, education, and science rather than oil and gas. He highlighted that over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has established new higher education institutions as part of the state's policy. The focus is on improving the quality of education, enhancing the social security and professionalism of teachers, and refining the testing system. These efforts aim to create a literate and knowledgeable society, which is essential for long-term development. The President warned that without these measures, the country might face challenges once its oil and gas resources are depleted.
