Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has highlighted the stagnation in Azerbaijan's agricultural development over recent years, emphasizing the need for a strategic approach to address this concern. "The programs and decisions adopted have brought about a major turning point. However, the stagnation observed in the development of agriculture over the past few years naturally gives us pause, and a State Program has been prepared and will be adopted for this purpose," President Aliyev stated during a meeting focused on agricultural issues.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev stressed the importance of involving the private sector in the new State Program, urging business representatives to take on a greater role. He highlighted the necessity of creating favorable conditions for investments, aiming to bolster commitment to agricultural development. The President mentioned that various mechanisms, including concessional loans, would be employed to increase investment by Azerbaijani entrepreneurs. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of attracting foreign investors, noting Azerbaijan's growing international relations and the country's positive global image.

President Aliyev also indicated that the figures he plans to announce would serve as a message to potential investors, both locally and internationally. He underscored Azerbaijan's recognition as a middle power and expressed the government's commitment to providing necessary conditions for foreign companies within the legal framework. The President reiterated the strategic intent to draw foreign investment into targeted sectors to further enhance the country's agricultural landscape.
