President Ilham Aliyev Addresses Participants of International Conference

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the International Conference on the Interaction of Security Agencies in the Prevention of Humanitarian Crises and Global Man-made Disasters during Terror Attacks and Armed Conflicts, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev congratulated the attendees on the opening of the third session of the Baku Security Forum and emphasized the significance of the forum in maintaining the international security system amid increasing geopolitical tensions. The forum serves as a platform for security and intelligence agencies worldwide to collaborate and address global and regional security threats.

President Aliyev highlighted the evolving global landscape, marked by armed confrontations, humanitarian crises, ecological disasters, and rising cyber threats. He underscored the importance of joint efforts and close collaboration between countries to address issues such as religious extremism, separatism, transnational organized crime, and illicit trafficking, which pose significant challenges to international security.

The president reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and dialogue to achieve regional stability and prosperity. He referenced the Joint Declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, witnessed by the US in Washington, as a historic step towards resolving long-standing conflicts and promoting peace in the South Caucasus.

President Aliyev also noted the crucial role of intelligence agencies in preventing and resolving international security problems and expressed confidence that the conference discussions would contribute to shaping a safer future. He announced the establishment of the Organizing Committee and Secretariat for the Baku Security Forum, aiming to institutionalize the event and ensure its continuous operation.

The address concluded with President Aliyev extending a warm welcome to all participants and wishing success for the conference’s proceedings.
