Ganja: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the city of Ganja, focusing on development initiatives and preparations for upcoming events. The visit began with the couple placing bouquets of flowers at the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center.
According to Trend News Agency, the President and First Lady were briefed on the ongoing construction and development projects across Ganja. With the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games approaching, the city has seen significant efforts from various institutions. Large-scale landscaping, construction, repair, and restoration projects are actively underway to prepare for the event.
The Ganja City Executive Authority, in collaboration with the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, has completed the renewal of asphalt surfaces on over 120 streets, alongside major repair works. The reconstruction projects extend to several parks, upgraded street lighting, and the establishment of new green spaces throughout the city.
Additionally, "Baku Landscaping Service" LLC has contributed by repairing the facades of 637 residential and non-residential buildings and replacing the roofing of 1,159 structures. The lighting systems in 49 streets and avenues have been upgraded, with modernized facade lighting at 62 locations. The repair and restoration of 24 fountains and the restoration of pedestrian pathways covering 27,000 square meters are also part of the city's transformation efforts.
