Baku: Rauf Goyush oglu Valiyev has been relieved of his duties as chairman of the board of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed an order regarding this.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, by another order of the President, Afgan Suleyman oglu Jalilov has been appointed as the chairman of the board of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company. Afgan Suleyman oglu Jalilov was born in 1978 and has an extensive background in the banking and maritime sectors.

From 2002 to 2005, Jalilov worked in the Market Operations Department of the National Bank. He then held the positions of Head of the Methodology Department, Director of the Development Department, and Chief Executive Officer for Financial Control at 'AGBank' OJSC from 2005 to 2013. In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of 'AGBank' OJSC and served as Chairman of the Management Board from 2016 to 2020.

From 2021 to 2023, he was Chairman of the Management Board of 'Azerpost' LLC, operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT). Most recently, on October 30, 2023, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the State Maritime and Port Agency under the MDDT.
