Baku: Amendments have been made to the Rules on State Oversight of the Implementation of Children's Rights, APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decree mandates the Prosecutor's Office to undertake several critical responsibilities. These include protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children in court, applying to state authorities, and filing lawsuits in cases established by law. Additionally, the Prosecutor's Office is tasked with supervising the implementation of laws in criminal cases and administrative offense proceedings involving children, as outlined by specific legal requirements.
Furthermore, the decree requires the Prosecutor's Office to review information provided by guardianship and trusteeship authorities and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population. This involves addressing situations where a child's life or health is under immediate threat and taking the necessary legal measures.
